They are filled with junk, lots of it -- old, random and kitschy stuff, along with hidden bargains, or at least the belief that a hidden bargain lurks somewhere in one of those milk crates. For many, it's as much a treasure hunt as a shopping excursion.What was a niche market has become hip. Area flea markets report a rise in attendance this year. Credit a sagging economy with that. A Craigslist culture. Home-improvement shows that focus on decorating on the cheap and with recycled materials. And yes, "Antiques Roadshow."The usual silk-screen T-shirts and messenger bags bearing images of Che Guevara, Chairman Mao, Bob Marley and Bruce Lee are like cliches in flea markets. New this year: lots of Sonics T-shirts, mugs and other memorabilia. Must be an Oklahoma thing.And this just in: The National Flea Market Association reports that more flea-market vendors are selling new instead of used merchandise.But most still don't take credit cards. So bring cash and follow us as we sample some flea markets around Puget Sound.Star Lite Swap MeetLakewood, Pierce CountyEasily the most popular flea market in the region. When Midway Swap Meet closed in 2005 to make way for a Lowe's home-improvement store, most vendors relocated to this former drive-in theater in Lakewood and took Seattle-area customers with them.The result: Lakewood now runs the biggest flea market in Western Washington, boasting hundreds of vendors and crowds up to 8,000 on weekends.The flea market operates six days a week, doubling in size on weekends. The vendors -- and, often, the customers -- are predominantly Latino, many of them Mexican-American. Lakewood mirrors the big swap meets in California both in its demographics and setup.Some of the area's best Mexican street food is sold here, with vendors hawking beef-tongue tacos and fruit plates topped with whipped cream and chocolate.You can hear Spanish, Korean, Chinese and Vietnamese spoken along the rows of booths. Vendors haggle with customers over a few dollars. This may be the area's most manly flea market. Lots of used crossbows, hunting knives, camouflage gear, power tools, Chilton repair manuals and motorcycle helmets.Again, Latinos make up probably half of the estimated 200 vendors at this drive-in theater space, many selling mariachi outfits, Mexican pop music and DVDs.Everett's market also hosts dozens of local homeowners unloading stuff out of their basements, attics and mini-storage. Sort of gives it a neighborhood-yard-sale ambience. Better yet, they offer the best deals.But you will have to work for it. Some don't display or put price tags on teacups, toys or clothes. You dig through their boxes. Prices typically range from $1 to $5.Among the more popular vendors is a couple selling $3 belts. Select a buckle from a box and a belt color, and the vendor tailors your belt on site.The crowd, about 800, peaks around noon. The real bargains start in late afternoon when the crowd dies down and vendors slash prices. On a recent Saturday, many vendors started halving prices. Even the hot-dog vendors offered 2-for-1 deals.Deals we found: An adult-size Darth Vader head mask with electronic voice box ($18), a set of four crystal glasses ($1).Fremont Sunday MarketSeattleWhen veteran flea-market hunters say the Fremont market doesn't sell a lot of junk, it's not meant to be a compliment. Even the street-vendor food seems a bit uppity. One booth features steak frites paired with ginger beer. Another sells pizza slices baked in a portable wood-fired oven.Fremont is more a hybrid market, with more than half of its 150 vendors selling arts and crafts, along with farmers selling produce and flowers and dealers hawking antiques and collectibles. The flea-market portion takes place mostly in a parking garage, with vendors selling used dolls, hiking jackets, Peanuts cartoon memorabilia and DVDs. Most used clothing, shoes, belt buckles and the like sell at a higher price here than at other flea markets.Nancy Heinrich and George Tart, of Olympia, run one of the most popular stalls, selling "fun junk" art such as name bracelets made from letter keys from manual typewriters, postcards made from cut-up vinyl record covers and jewelry made from watches that don't tick anymore.Deals we found: Some interesting finds, but they don't qualify as bargains. Duke.The boxes quivered as the first side of the cardboard fortress was erected. Student volunteers carrying tape and flattened boxes stopped to cheer.It was 2 p.m. Friday, and they had seven hours to go to break the record for world's largest cardboard fort using 3,500 boxes. The project, organized by multiple Duke disciplines, to include art, architecture and sustainability, trudged on that rainy afternoon, even as fat raindrops splat against the soggy structure, making the tops of boxes buckle.As a group of students worked on the Duke Chapel-like center of the structure, others worked on a labyrinth constructed of Home Depot, microwave and memory foam mattress boxes. Two-thirds of the boxes were gathered from student move-in, and the remaining third were shipment boxes sent to campus buildings."First and foremost, it's, dude, look at all the cardboard we brought in," said Arwen Buchholz, Duke's sanitation and recycling program manager. "How much are we consuming? How much are we recycling or throwing away?"Besides spreading a message of sustainability, Buchholz said they were confident about breaking the cardboard fort world record, which is held by the city of Naperville, Ill., who used 3,204 boxes.Buchholz said she heard Naperville constructed their fort inside and with new, donated boxes, so it isn't a comparable challenge.Cardboard continued to stack up as students walked out of classes or got off the bus. They walked past the frenzied scene in the grass, carrying backpacks, and decided to chip in on a whim.Ryan Edwardson, who's going after his master's degree in divinity at Duke, said he was planning to ride his bike home from the Divinity School when he came across the massive project."I have no better way to spend my Friday afternoon," Edwardson said, sorting through stacks of flattened cardboard. "This is the highlight of my week, helping to build a giant box fort."When they put that wall up," he added, pointing to the side of the fort, "I was very happy. This is a delightful Friday afternoon. I'm kind of like a kid, and I will always be a kid."Environmental artist and Durham resident Bryant Holsenbeck and three volunteers strung plastic bottles, cut into curls, on zip ties. They were then woven together to form a plastic cape for the Duke statue. The plastic cascaded down his shoulders in waves, parts of Dr. Pepper and Dasani labels adding splashes of red and blue.The fort construction also迷你倉最平promoted the Duke Arts Festival coming up in October. The theme will be sustainability, and Holsenbeck will have more of her plastic bottle art on display in her "Falling Water: Plastic Sea" exhibition in the Bryan Center starting Oct. 18.So why choose to put a cape on Duke University's founder? "Well, why not?" Holsenbeck asked. "They said, 'Put him in a dress,' and I said, 'Why not a cape?'"She calls James B. Duke the Caped Crusader of the cardboard fort. By mid-afternoon, his cape was constructed of 3,000 plastic bottles and counting, gathered from as far as Appalachian State University and the Cary Fire Department, as well as straight from Duke's recycling program.The students had until 9 p.m. to technically break the record and then break down their creation. White moving vans were on standby, to lug the cardboard there and then lug it back for recycling.Tahsin Zaman, a 20-year-old Duke neuroscience sophomore, said he was moving from job to job at the construction site, first making adhesive strips to hold the boxes together, then helping to construct the first fort wall.He said he agrees with other students. They're living out a childhood dream by building this huge fort."I think that's why everyone's here," Zaman said. "As a kid, you want to make out of giant cardboard boxes a giant castle."Nineteen-year-old Noura von Briesen, a civil engineering sophomore, walked by with a floor lamp box in her hands, hoping to add it to the labyrinth. She compared putting the pieces together to playing Tetris."It's a not-so-common way to apply my limited, right now, engineering skills and figure out how it's going to hold up," von Briesen said.The lead architect of the fortress was Todd Berreth, a research programmer and architecture instructor at Duke. He came up with the detailed blueprints before Friday, which included measurements and box renderings around the Duke statue.He zipped through the piles of boxes and dismantled wooden beams that afternoon with bloodied fingers that suffered close encounters with a packaging tape gun. By 3 p.m., the group had used 1,600 boxes and had signed in about 200 volunteers throughout the day.He said he decided to create a labyrinth because of its message."There's just something poetic about this long journey of taking care of our environment," Berreth said. "... Susan Collins, R-Maine, is no fan of the Affordable Care Act, but warned Friday that tying its funding to a possible government shutdown could be disastrous.Collins spoke to reporters after stepping off a Washington, D.C., flight that landed at Bangor International Airport on Friday afternoon, shortly after the Republican-controlled House passed a short-term spending plan that would eliminate all funding for the Affordable Care Act.The Democrat-led Senate is certain to support funding for the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, but the debate has led to speculation about a possible government shutdown at the end of the fiscal year on September 30 if there is no compromise on a spending resolution."I do not support Obamacare," Collins said. "I think it will drive up the cost of health insurance premiums and create a lot of problems, particularly for small businesses and for individuals who are going to have a hard time getting the kind of insurance they want on the exchange," as well as bringing about billions in new fees and taxes that will increase the cost of health insurance."At the same time, I think it is a huge mistake to link the defunding of Obamacare to a government shutdown," Collins said. "We have an obligation to govern in Washington, and it would create chaos if government were to shut down," she added, citing the government shutdowns of the mid-1990s."We do have an unsustainable $17 trillion debt that we need to deal with, and it's going to require more leadership from the president and willing partners in Congress," Collins said, "but shutting down does not get us any closer to a fiscal plan to deal with that debt."Collins also weighed in on the tense situation with Syria, which handed over a list d迷你倉tailing its chemical weapons cache on Friday."We now need an intensive effort to verify this," Collins said. "Obviously we cannot trust President Assad to be completely forthcoming, and I want to make sure he does not have hidden stockpiles."She said that international inspectors should be granted access to the country to ensure that Assad's government is being forthright with the international community. Once the list is verified, the weapons should be handed over, she said."That is a far preferable outcome to the United States unilaterally launching a military attack on Syria," she said. Such a strike would be unwise, as it is unlikely that "limited strikes" by U.S. missiles would be able to take out Syria's spread-out chemical weapons supply. Also, blowing up the chemical weapons could release toxic clouds that could harm civilians, she said.The senator also criticized the House vote to cut $40 billion from the food stamps program over the next 10 years."I do not support the House plan to slash food stamps," she said. "We have a lot of elderly people living in rural Maine who really depend on food stamps in order to get proper nutrition. We also have a lot of children that are living in poor families that also are dependent on food stamps. That doesn't mean that the food stamps program does not need reform. 信息來源於四川新聞網 / Cited from .newssc.org/在茶水間喝咖啡時，mini storage李俊（右）和同事何均也不忘交流幾句技術問題。夜宿點簡介位於成都天府軟件園C區的疊拓信息技術有限公司成都分公司，總部在芬蘭，是排名歐洲前三甲的IT業務供應商。2007年疊拓成都分公司成立以來，已發展成為疊拓在全球最大的研發中心，擁有1000多名員工，主要為芬蘭、瑞典和印度的一流電信運營商、移動設備製造商、網絡設備提供商等提供咨詢服務和定制專業方案。□本報記者 李秋怡 顏婧 文/圖8月30日下午2時，記者刷開兩道玻璃門後進入疊拓信息技術有限公司成都分公司辦公區。“正在接受一個‘Critical（中文意：危急）級’的求助，我立即跟進……”辦公區內一片繁忙，中英文夾雜的語言體系，透出這裡的國際化氣息。說話的人是負責技術支持的23歲小伙子李俊。來自新疆的他，大學畢業後加盟疊拓，工作時間不到兩年。辦公區里，專注于屏幕、指尖在鍵盤上飛馳的員工，幾乎全是年輕面孔，其中不乏金髮碧眼。“他正在處理芬蘭客戶的問題。”部門經理張莉解釋，他們提供研發、測試、集成和驗證在內的外包服務，跟進和處理客戶在任何環節中遇到的麻煩。此外，由於超過八成的業務來自瑞典、芬蘭及印度，他們又必須調配“芬蘭時間”。一部分技術好、外語佳的員工，會輪流承擔晚班工作。配合兩地6小時時差，晚班員工下午2點至晚上10點上班。晚班非常具有挑戰性，一是技術能力要求高，員工要單槍匹馬應付來自海外的技術問題；二是語言能力要求高，必須零障礙地與對方進行英文交流；三是必須對自己有信心。張莉講了一件事，可以看出這種“挑戰”。有一次，成都分公司派人參加一個電話會議，但第二天卻接到客戶投訴，說成都分公司沒來人。一查才知，參加電話會議的這名員工對英語沒信心，全程沒敢說一句話，在電話會議中成了“隱形人”。李俊正是當月的晚班員工之一。很快，李俊追查出故障是因為服務器磁盤滿負荷運轉造成。他立即�動選擇性刪除模式開始解決。“‘Critical級’說明已對正常使用產生嚴重影響，必須馬上搞定。”一旁搭腔的小伙子何均負責前端技術開發。他解釋道，客戶按輕重緩急的五個級別發求助，“Critical級”是第二高等級。20分鐘後，清盤完畢，對方對李俊的處理速度和結果頗為滿意。舒了一口氣，李俊笑呵呵地和記者打招呼：“最近北歐很多公司放長假，這種緊急求助郵件少了很多……”當然，相對清閑不代表對業務的要求可以鬆懈。記者瞥見他的桌上有一本厚如枕頭、看了一半的《UNIX環境高級編程》參考書。“北歐的公司標準高、要求嚴，必須隨時自我增值”，李俊還打趣地說，成都魅力太大，不僅吸引了維布諾、賽門鐵克、華為這樣的全球IT巨頭，更有無數孜孜進取的小企業，“競爭對手密佈在四周，大家同台競技，不敢落後。”事實上，李俊、何均也有去北京、深圳工作的機會，但橫向比較後“發現成都的工作環境數一數二”。何均不假思索地告訴記者，在服務self storage包領域，成都的產業地位已屬於一線城市，關鍵是綜合性價比非常高，充滿時代感的辦公樓，包容性強的餐飲區，以及味美價廉的咖啡館，都讓他處處慶幸和驕傲，“自己是高新產業由東向西轉移浪潮中，正在參與的一分子。”張莉“糾正”他：“成都雖然不沿邊、不靠海，但它的電子信息產業和裝備製造業已躋身世界一流，你不是在‘轉移浪潮’中，而是在‘同台競技的舞台上’。”吸引他們的還有公司的企業文化??這裡上班不需打卡；大家的關係是平等的，只有誰的能力更強；有很多俱樂部，游泳、電子競技；有很多培訓，可以實現自我增值……他們給出一大堆喜歡成都、喜歡公司的理由。到晚上6時，一些員工開始陸續下班，張莉把筆記本電腦塞進背包後，與記者道別。為配合我們，她已推掉好幾個會議，由於第二天還要前往波蘭出差，敲定一個大單，所以她得提前做些準備工作。人少的辦公區更加敞亮，電腦主機的轟鳴聲和斷斷續續對鍵盤的敲打聲也變得清晰。下樓吃了一份回鍋肉炒飯的李俊，繼續埋頭處理遺留下來的求助郵件，“這個問題雖然不急，但複查非常麻煩，數據量太大了，從昨天到現在還沒頭緒……”晚上8時過，窗外華燈漸放，園區內錯落有致的大樓里仍有許多忙碌的身影。李俊到茶水間接了一杯現磨咖啡，站在落地窗前放鬆片刻。“哇�！終於把你給找到了……”李俊大喊著的“你”，就是那個困擾他兩天的漏洞。在同事劉偉的配合下，他們立即開始改寫舊程序。臨近晚班結束，這聲開心的叫喊，讓這個“夜班”變得圓滿。晚上10點過，比准點下班晚了一會，李俊瀟灑地向記者揮手，消失在夜色中。李俊很享受自己的“芬蘭時間”，也不怕“倒時差”，且不論再晚下班，軟件園內始終不會消散的活力總能激發出他新的活力。他對未來充滿期冀：“希望有朝一日，可以成為最牛的技術達人，而且能夠像張姐（指張莉）一樣，代表公司，穿梭在世界各地，體驗一次真正的‘倒時差’。”記者手記這裡有全球的創新節奏成都天府軟件園作為中國十大軟件產業基地之一，是成都IT產業的一張名片。每次來這裡，都會更加深刻地感覺到，它的魅力，已遠遠不止集聚了包括33家世界500強企業在內的400多個中外IT名企，而更在於它一定是新一代中國IT才俊的搖籃??無數年輕的臉龐都渴望著在這裡譜出自己的“致青春”宣言。不止疊拓，我們曾採訪過園區內的IBM、維布諾、馬士基、安聯等企業。我們曾目睹過它們在選擇城市時的比較，也看到過它們暫時的猶豫，但最終見證它們的落戶和更好的發展，共同構建出這個區域良好的產業生態。李俊和何均都說，留在成都工作，薪資水平不是第一考慮因素，吸引他們的，是“這裡有全球的創新節奏”。他們渴望有朝一日，和無數個與他們一樣“並肩作戰”的年輕人一道，把成都推向全球新一輪產業崛起進程中的第一方陣，而他們是當之無愧的拓疆者。深夜從疊拓成都分公司出來，炙熱的氣溫已退去不少，軟件園內科技與藝術混搭的建築依然輪廓清晰，我們也變得激昂起來：誰敢說，在他們中間，不會有中國的比爾?蓋茨或喬布斯呢？迷你倉

微軟絕地大反攻，迷你倉美國時間下周一將舉辦新品發表會，預計推出新一代Surface平板電腦；緊接著周二在台灣舉辦TechDays開發者大會，展示Windows8.1在內的微軟產品最新功能，料將牽動宏�（2353）、華碩（2357）等台灣供應鏈廠商的表現。微軟TechDays Taiwan 2013開發者大會9月24日起，一連在台舉行3天，微軟Office Servers and Services部門副總裁拉傑許•賈（Rajesh Jha）將首度訪台，為活動拉抬氣勢。每年在台灣舉行的TechDays開發者大會，主要是為資訊專業人士與開發人員量身打造，微軟在會中揭露各項最新產品及最新動態，方便合作伙伴掌握最新趨勢，以在微軟平台上開發出更多周邊應用。由於微軟與台灣科技業的合作關係密切，TechDays號稱是台灣最重要、最具影響力的技術交流盛會之一儲存倉今年大會熱門核心技術包括雲端服務、行動商務、海量資料、協同生產力等。10大課程主題、80位以上頂尖講師、超過100堂專業課程，吸引近1,000家企業、超過3,000名專業人士參加。今年最受矚目的非Windows8.1莫屬，微軟優化去年推出的Win8作業系統，預計10月18日推出進化版的Win8.1，被視為傳統PC陣營能否扭轉頹勢的重要指標。雖然微軟在6月的台北國際電腦展（Computex）和舊金山開發者大會（Build）上，都已經介紹過Win8.1的新功能，包括將大家熟悉的「開始鍵」物歸原處。但隨著正式版上市時間逼近，下周TechDays大會上是否揭露更多的新功能，備受矚目。這也將牽動宏�、華碩、廣達、仁寶、緯創等一長串台灣PC供應鏈的後勢表現。另外，微軟已寄出邀請函，下周一將在紐約舉行新品發表會，預料將推出新一代Surface平板電腦。迷你倉
