Source: The Roanoke Times, Va.迷你倉Nov. 16--FloydFest announced on Friday some interesting logistical changes to its upcoming 13th version, scheduled for next July. The e-mailed announcement comes in the wake of this year's event, which was plagued by problems getting onsite, then by torrential rains that left much of the grounds a quagmire. Some of these changes were sparked by organizers' assessment of 1,000 post-event survey responses, according to the e-mail.For starters, organizers are going to sell 1,300 fewer tickets for the full weekend in 2014. The event will discontinue its X Spot and onsite RV camping, in what organizers said in the e-mail will "improve aesthetics and environmental impact" on the site. The off-site park-and-camp area will be expanded.More importantly for folks who experienced trouble getting to the grounds this year and trouble getting off them the year before, extended arrival and departure options will allow customers to come as early as the Tuesday before the festival's Thursday start, and leave as late as the day after it ends.Next year's festival, with the nickname "Revolutionary," runs July 23-27, 2014."Our goal is to create the ultimate boutique musical event experience, and provide every attendee with an inspired, yet safe and comfortable environment that they enjoy," organizers wrote in an e-mail blamini storaget on Friday afternoon.According to information at FloydFest.com, all on-site tents will require a pre-purchased "tent tag," for a 15-foot by 15-foot spot. The tags will go for $50 to $100 each. According to the site, those tags are available only to 4-day, 5-day and VIP (now called "High Roller") tickets.Performer announcements will be official on Monday, the day tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. But the e-mail gave hints about the 2014 lineup. Here are my guesses as to some of the acts on the bill: Lettuce, The Lee Boys, Tauk, Donna the Buffalo, Conspirator, Duhks, Buddy Miller, The London Souls, Robert Randolph and the Family Band and Ray LaMontagne. Finally, and these are both wild cards: Sonic Youth and Lauryn Hill. But remember, all of these are simply my guesses. Finally, in another sad bit of FloydFest news , longtime FloydFest co-organizer/communications director Linda DeVito has left the festival. She said that she is focusing on her Floyd County-based real estate business.Five-day passes tothe 2014 festival will be $185, according to the site. Get more info via floydfest.com.
