Source: Albuquerque Journal, N.迷你倉M.Nov. 10--New Mexicans and people who travel to New Mexico now have a new online resource to consult as they plan an extended trip, a weekend travel getaway or an activity for the day.New Mexico Travel, at ABQjournal.com/travel, launched earlier this month. The website organizes archived stories that have appeared in the Albuquerque Journal and its magazines that deal with travel, tourism, events and just interesting facts about New Mexico's communities. The site is not your traditional "Where do I stay? Where do I eat?" site.It is, instead, a site that supplements such information by providing stories about the place you plan to visit.Interested in attending next year's Santa Fe Indian Market or the Traditional Spanish Market? The site provides histories of the festivals and Santa Fe's role as the third largest art market in the country.Looking for a soothing weekend getaway? Consider Truth or Consequences. The site offers stories about its therapeutic geothermal mineral springs, art galleries and the Geronimo Springs Museum, home to a world-class collection of prehistoric and Mimbres pottery.Following the "responsive design" of ABQjournal.com, the travel site allows the user to easily view the content on anmini storage device, including computer, tablet or smart phone. The website is arranged in categories: Events, Outdoors, Wine & Dine, Culture, Entertainment, Hollywood NM and Destinations. Each of the categories has subcategories, so if users click on Outdoors, they will see items for snow sports or hiking; click on culture and read about the state's history; go to Wine & Dine for items about new and established restaurants, food trends and food festivals; Hollywood NM walks visitors through the state's history as a backdrop for major movies and television programs. The convenient Destinations category has a navigation bar that guides readers to stories about locales in specific parts of the state. In addition to the category for events, a sidebar on the right side of the page lists a summary of annual events around the state by month. The website was designed by the Journal's Web developer Jolie McCullough. Features editor Helen Taylor combed through archives to select the stories, written by Journal staff writers and freelancers, and photos, taken by staff photographers.Copyright: ___ (c)2013 the Albuquerque Journal (Albuquerque, N.M.)
