Source: Post-Bulletin, Rochester, Minn.迷你倉Oct. 22--With a new location, Haunted Hallways volunteers are promising more scares and thrills as well as better parking. This year, Haunted Hallways, a fundraiser benefiting Rochester Public Schools, moved from the Kahler Grand Hotel to Golden Hill School. Haunted Hallways is a Halloween-themed, three-day event, Thursday through Saturday, for the Rochester Public School Foundation (RPSF). It will feature live music, contests and other activities.Volunteer Christy Buchan, who has been the Washington Elementary School lead since 2011, said the new location offers more space and more opportunities to make people jump."For one thing, the parking just got a lot easier," Buchan said. "Also, the space is much larger, which allows for many different twists and turns. Instead of people walking through the subway, they can now go into rooms. There will be a lot of scary stuff."Rochester John Marshall junior Julian Juth, who has volunteered for Haunted Hallways since her freshman year, said she's thrilled with the possibilities of Golden Hill."I'm really excited for the new location," Juth said. "It's a different feel from a hotel. I'm glad we moved."Juth said there are more than 50 Rochester-area students who help out with Haunted Hallways. Twenty-three school groups design and decorate the halls. Each hallway is its own exhibit, with the thrills ranging fro儲存倉 kid-friendly to adult. Juth is one of 15 John Marshall students volunteering their time."I help organize the rooms, make sure everything gets set up right, make sure the makeup gets organized and there is enough light sources in each room," said Juth, who also helps with the costumes. Each school comes up with its own theme, ranging from a mad scientist's lab to zombies."Everyone gets to do something different," Juth said. "All the schools are excited."While the Haunted Hallways has moved to a new location, the set-up will remain the same. For young children, there is the Haunted Hall of Fun. For toddlers, there will be craft tables and businesses handing out candy. Up next is the Hall of Haunts, which has scary characters, but no blood or gore. Finally, there is the Hall of Horror."Quite frankly, the (Hall of Horror) is really gross," Buchan said. "If people want the dickens scared out of them, that is where they need to go."There is easy access to exits after each Hall, for people who don't wish to walk through the Hall of Haunts or the Hall of Horror.Tickets are $7. Each participating school got a check for $1,000 last winter.Copyright: ___ (c)2013 the Post-Bulletin Visit the Post-Bulletin at .postbulletin.com Distributed by MCT Information Services迷你倉最平
