Cab demand high after office hoursWE THANK Mr Tan Swee Seng and Mr Poh Soon Leong for their letters ("Start cabs' CBD surcharge earlier" and "Taxis not major cause of jams"; both published on Monday).儲存倉To encourage taxi drivers to enter the Central Business District (CBD) for fares, taxi companies introduced the CBD surcharge which goes to the drivers to help them offset the ERP charges and provide them with an incentive to ply the CBD/city areas.The surcharge is applicable during the evening peak periods from 5pm where there is a high concentrated demand for taxis after office hours.The bus lane scheme was implemented to give buses priority as they are more efficient movers of passengers. For bus lanes to be effective, bus movements must not be impeded during bus lane operating hours. Going under the sun was not to my liking.My perception of exercise changed when I was exposed to yoga, archery and Zumba.Perspiration is minimal when doing yoga. Archery is goal-focused while Zumba is fun.
