Source: Detroit Free PressJuly 18--Garrett Clayton has been waiting about a year and half for everyone to see him bask in the Hollywood sun.迷你倉 On Friday, the metro Detroit native's "Teen Beach Movie" will make its Disney Channel debut."I'm really excited for people to finally see it," said Clayton about his first big national acting role.Clayton, who lived "all over the place" when he was growing up, including Redford and Birmingham, said he knew he wanted to be an actor while he was still at Crestwood High School in Dearborn Heights."I quit all that my sophomore year to try swimming," he said. "I hated that. I realized how much I missed performing, acting. And from that point I haven't stopped."Clayton says "Teen Beach Movie" is a tribute of sorts to classics like "Beach Blanket Bingo," "Grease," "Hairspray" and "High School Musical.""It's really a good example of that saying that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover," Clayton says. "My character, Tanner, he's like Tony from 'West Side Story' or a modern-day Frankie Avalon, but he kind of comes off as an airhead when you first meet him. But, like most of the characters in the movie, there are many more layers to him."Although Clayton is hoping that "Teen Beach Movie" is just the beginning of a huge Hollywood career, he wants people in Detroit to know he loves his home state."I've been living out in California for about three years now, but I come back home as much as possible," he said. "I didn't move to California because I didn't love Michigan.""Teen Beach Movie" debuts at 8 p.m. Friday on the Disney ChannelClear Channel and Gleaners team upLooking to rub elbows with some local celebrities, potentially win big-name concert tickets while also supporting a great cause?
